A former member of popular Dutch girl band Centerfold, Laura Fygi released her debut album, “Introducing”, in 1991. In this particular album, Fygi got to work with renowned Belgian musician Toots Thielemans. A daughter of a Dutch father and an Egyptian (which explains Laura’s exquisite looks), in 2007, Laura Fygi released her latest album “Rendez-Vous”, where she combined her passion of the Great American Songbook with the sounds of her mother tongue. She claimed to have selected a number of her favorite classic, such as “Le Continental”, “Le Temps qui Passe”, “Divine Beguine”, “Tout Le Jour, Toute La Nuit”, “Dansez Maintenant” and many more.
Laura Fygi is scheduled to perform at Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2009, on Saturday, 7 March 2009 in a SPECIAL SHOW.
