Due to Perform at Java Jazz Festival 2010... Melvin Davis


Los Angeles native Melvin Lee Davis was discovered at the tender age of 16 by Buddy Miles, when a horn player from Buddy Miles' band heard Melvin playing in a local club. Buddy Miles flew Davis to New York to audition for his band and immediately hired him. After playing the New York club circuit, Melvin found himself working with Don Cornelius of Soul Train. He has toured and recorded with Chaka Khan, the Pointer Sisters, Lee Ritenour, Bryan Ferry, David Benoit, Larry Carlton, Patti Austin, Gladys Knight, and many other top acts. Davis wrote the theme for the TV show "The Party Machine" and "Soul Train's A Coming" and has appeared on "Johnny Carson", "David Letterman", "Jay Leno", and "Arsenio Hall." Melvin has travelled the world and continues to be in high demand across many genres of music because of his incredible talent and positive demeanor on and off stage.

Griffith Frank is an artist with a unique voice that reconnects people to their feelings. Born in NYC raised in California, Griffith has studied and perfected the art of music. With a three octave vocal range, he can sing pop, rock, and semi classical material. Griffith has been nominated for, and won many prestigious vocal competitions and scholarships, including the LA Music Center Spotlight Awards and the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. Aged at just 21, Griffith struck a record deal with major label Geffen. Ron Fair, Chairman of Geffen records, signed Griffith as a solo recording artist after hearing just one song! Griffith is currently in the studio working on his first solo material due for release in early 2010.

Due to Perform at Java Jazz Festival 2010... Ron Bruner Jr


Ronald Bruner Jr.has been playing the drums since the age of 2. His earliest influence was his father, Ronald Bruner Sr., a world class drummer who has performed and recorded with Diana Ross, the Temptations and Gladys Knight. Ron Jr. began his professional career at the age of 15, at the Theolonius Monk Institute, which opened the door to perform with many great artists such as Wayne Shorter, Dianne Reeves, and Ron Carter. A few years later he became a regular member of Kenny Garret's band. Over the years his style has diversified, including punk rock with the band Suicidal Tendencies. Now age 23, his other extensive credits already include Lee Ritenour, Roy Hargrove, Tribal Tech, Larry Carlton, Marcus Miller, Kirk Whalum, Robben Ford, Patrice Rushen, Clark Terry, Johnny Hodges, and Gerald Albright. Regardless of what the future holds for Ronald, you can expect a diverse display of drumming styles and an enthusiasm and excitement you cannot deny.

Rodney Holmes is one of today's most unique and mesmerizing drummers. His talents as a composer and producer are showcased on this highly anticipated solo debut. Rodney has worked and recorded with some of the most respected musicians in both rock, and jazz worlds. Carlos Santana, Rob Thomas, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul are just a few examples. Rodney is currently leading his new band LITHIUM TREE. Rodney is also working with several different projects besides his own group. He is currently playing and writing for Jim Weider's Project Percolator. Rodney is also a member of "ETHEREAL DISTORTION". The Band formally known as "The Hermanators". TWELVE MONTHS OF OCTOBER is electronic based music with a different kind of vision. Rodney manages to pull together many different elements to create a uniquely exciting, yet thought provoking hybrid of dance and progressive music. Blending live performances with elements of breakbeat, techno and progressive rock. Even though this CD is difficult to categorize, the intensity of the playing, melodic compositions, and the almost cinematic images are undeniably powerful.
