Lots of things to look forward to next year, one of which is the fifth edition of Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, due to take place on 6, 7 and 8 March 2009 at the spacious and cool Jakarta Convention Center, the home of Java Jazz Festival for the last four years and many years to come.
For the upcoming Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (Java Jazz Festival, or JJF for short), some names who have confirmed their attendance include: Brian McKnight, Jason Mraz, Swing Out Sister, Peabo Bryson, Eliane Elias, Simon Phillips, David Garfield, Ivan Lins, David Weckl, Oleta Adams, Ron King's Big Band (also present during JJF 2008), Matt Bianco, The New York Voices and so many more. With a few surprises up its sleeves, Java Jazz Festival 2009 promises to be a celebration of the great lifestyle of jazz!
To warm up the ambiance and attract visitors for the festival, a series of pre-event, aptly titled Java Jazz on the Move (JJOTM), will take place in a number of public venues, such as restaurants, cafes, malls and also universities. This type of activity will take place approximately a month prior to the huge event.
Also, there is also a plan to invite the presently popular community of bicycle riders to participate in celebrating a cause which motivates people to live healthier and also in their own way lessen pollution by establishing 'Bike to Java Jazz Festival', an actualization of the festival organizer's campaign, 'We Do Green'.
Looks like a great year ahead!
